Spend Mother’s Day afternoon hiking Gott Pasture Preserve, a seventy-five-acre property donated by the Helen and George Ladd Family in 2003. Highlights of the moderately steep loop trail feature three vernal pools and more than 1,100 feet of undeveloped shoreline on Wilson Pond. This land was farmed in the nineteenth century, so as you hike look for old stone walls, a cellar hole, and impressive red oaks and white pines. Bring your binoculars; the wetlands, shoreline, and forest provide a diversity of bird habitat. All ages are welcome.
