The Kennebec Land Trust (KLT) would like to invite you to Family Forestry Day: a Sustainable Forestry Education Program at the Curtis Homestead Conservation Area in Leeds. Learn about forest stewardship, sustainable timber harvesting practices, and tree identification through a series of demonstrations with presentations from forestry professionals, including a forester, logger, saw mill operator and log scaler. This program is geared to third grade through adult.
Our forestry program will take place at Governor Ken Curtis’s childhood home, KLT’s 360-acre Curtis Homestead Conservation area in Leeds, and will be a great opportunity for anyone who may be considering careers in forestry, wildlife management, or related outdoor work or interested in learning more about forest stewardship.
