Join Tim Sniffen of the Readfield Conservation Commission and Torsey Pond Nature Preserve property steward Milt Wright for a walking tour of Macdonald Woods and the Readfield Town Forest.. The area was settled early in Readfield’s history and includes North Wayne Road, one of the first roads built in town (in 1776); impressive stone walls; a wide and lengthy sheep/cattle walk; and a very large Town Poor Farm house and barn as evidenced by the surviving foundations. Meet at the Macdonald Woods trailhead on the Kents Hill Road in North Wayne. Please park at the top of the hill. All ages welcome!
