Wild leeks, fiddleheads, and property taxes – A field walk

Kennebec Land Trust and Maine Woodland Owners invite the public to a Spring walk in the woods. This is a follow-up field program to our April 5 workshop on non-timber forest products and current use property tax programs. Dave Fuller, of UMaine’s Cooperative Extension, and Harold Burnett, of Two Trees Forestry, will identify non-timber forest products and discuss forest management options for landowners. The program will be hosted on a private Tree Farm on Chesterville Hill Road. After the Tree Farm program, participants can join us for a short walk at the Vienna Woods. It may be damp, so wear boots.

Directions: Heading north on Route 41 out of Vienna, take a left onto Route 156, just before a low, concrete bridge in Chesterville. Do not accelerate! Go about 100 feet and take your immediate left up Chesterville Hill Rd. to 129 on the right.

No registration required, and no need to attend the prior workshop. For more information please visit www.tklt.org or call 377-2848.
