In late December 2020, the 55-acre Weston Woods Preserve Little Cobbossee Lake in East Winthrop was permanently protected by KLT. The acquisition was made possible with a generous donation from Bob and Jim Weston, a grant from the Maine Natural Resource Conservation Program (MNRCP), and far-sighted KLT and community members. Weston Woods includes 1,315 feet of undeveloped shoreline; forested, scrub-shrub, and emergent wetlands; 1,500 feet of perennial streams; and land designated as Inland Waterfowl and Wading Bird Habitat.
Join KLT, Bob and Jim Weston, and friends on August 12 to celebrate one of our newest conservation properties.
Directions: Turn north onto Old Village Road from 202 in East Winthrop and then onto Case Rd. Drive about 3/4 of a mile and the Weston Woods Preserve will be on your right. Look for the snowmobile trail and KLT sign. Parking is available a little further down the road on the opposite side of the street at the Maine Woodland Owners Hewett Woodlots parking area.
