Wakefield WildLife Sanctuary Cabins Caretaker-Job Posting

The Kennebec Land Trust is seeking a seasonal, independent contractor to serve as caretaker of the Wakefield Wildlife Sanctuary Cabins in West Gardiner, Maine.
Caretaker Responsibilities
The primary role of the caretaker will be to prepare two rustic streamside rental cabins for the arrival of new guests according to schedule demand:
Clean between rentals
Ensure proper functioning of basic off-grid cabin systems
Transport trash and recycling to near-by West Gardiner Transfer Station
Monitor and notify KLT staff of any issues on the premises
***All Covid-19 protocols as set forth by Local or State governments, as well as by KLT, must be adhered to by the caretaker.***
Desired qualifications
Schedule flexibility
The ability and willingness to work independently and efficiently
Experience with cleaning and general property upkeep
The ability to recognize and troubleshoot potential problems
Strong communication skills
Very basic maintenance skills
Benefits
Pay will be $20/hour, estimated to be 3-6 hours/week from Memorial Day to mid-October. Hours are subject to variable bookings.
This is a contract position with no employee benefits.
Work must be completed in time for new guest arrival (turnover is typically once a week), but within those constraints, work can be performed at any time as preferred.
