KLT stewardship staff will lead an "off-trail" excursion on Surry Hill to explore this special area. Participants should plan on bringing snowshoes, skis, or ice grippers and should be comfortable traveling off-trail in winter conditions.

Safety and Wellness Guidance

Dress prepared for a winter walk in the woods. Participants should plan on bringing snowshoes, skis, or ice grippers and should be comfortable traveling off-trail in winter conditions.

Weather: We will monitor the forecast and postpone if conditions look poor (thunderstorms, high wind, and/or strong rain).

COVID-19 Guidance:

Plan to wear a mask for the duration of the event and maintain at least a 6ft distance from other people. Thank you for your cooperation in making this a safe event for everyone.

Please be sure you are up-to-date on the State of Maine’s expectations for quarantine of out-of-state travelers  (some states are exempt). We ask that you fully comply with the quarantine or testing requirement (as applicable to you) before attending a KLT event.

Do not participate in the program if you are sick or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.

Please practice good hygiene including cover your mouth if you sneeze or cough.

We will provide hand sanitizer, however, hand washing stations or restrooms are not available. We will not provide snacks or water and guests should be prepared with everything they need.

Due to the ongoing State of Emergency, changing guidance from the State of Maine, or organizational capacity, the Kennebec Land Trust (KLT) may need to cancel, reschedule, or modify, our programs and events. State guidelines are frequently updated and amended and the KLT reserves the right to request additional information at the time of the event if required by law.
